Paris Saint Germain vs Monaco – who will win the Coupe de la Ligue?
The first trophy of the French season will be won this weekend as the Coupe de la Ligue final gets held in the city of Bordeaux. Paris Saint Germain are up against Monaco and these are the top two teams in Ligue 1 currently. PSG have a 17 point lead but they could have a tricky match on Saturday. As thery are two teams of real quality and the two strongest in France.
AS Monaco are not as strong as they were a year ago when they won the Ligue 1 trophy as well as going far in the UEFA Champions League. They sold a number of their best players in the summer and Kylian Mbappe will play for PSG in the final. Leonardo Jardim has done a brilliant job at the club but this is the only trophy that he can win this season.
The league leaders had no trouble in reaching the Cup final and they will expect to continue their dominance of French football. Even if Unai Emery can win three trophies this season, he may still be sacked by the club after again failing to impress in the Champions League.
Paris have been in great form apart from the Champions League and they have only been beaten twice in the league all season. They are not able to call upon Neymar though as the Brazil striker has a damaged foot and may not play again before the World Cup 2018 tournament which begins in June. Monaco are also strong recently, so it will be a very interesting match with the Coupe de la Ligue 2018 trophy up for grabs.
The odds at top bookmaker Tipbet.com – which is worth checking out for a great supply of all sports events – show that PSG are the most likely to win this weekend.
