Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United – a battle for top four Premier League positions
There are 14 Premier League match days remaining starting this week with midweek matches over Tuesday and Wednesday. Tottenham Hotspur need to improve quickly if they are to finish at least fourth if they want to get into the Champions League next season. They are still in the Champions League currently but are unlikely to win it. Apart from in the FA Cup, it is hard to see which trophy the club can win. They could lose their best players including Harry Kane, if they cannot improve.
The London team have a big game against Manchester United on 31st January and a win would keep them close to Liverpool, who at the moment are in fourth place and two points ahead of their opponents.
Hotspur have not been able to keep the same form of the last two years and they have lost five times this season. Their star player is Kane, and he has scored 21 times so he could be important if they are to get a win on Wednesday.
Manchester United have had a very good season and they have lost just three times. However, two of those were to Chelsea and Manchester City so they have struggled to beat the best teams in the Premier League. Jose Mourinho will be looking to get the double over Spurs having beaten them in October.
The Reds have won all of their games in 2018 so far and they have impressively done so without conceding a goal. Also, Alexis Sanchez could play his first Premier League game for the club after he joined from Arsenal.
If United do not get all three points at Wembley then it is hard to see them get any close to Manchester City who have a 12 point lead in first place.
