Tipp3 is an Austrian sports betting provider which was launched in 2001 already and resides in Vienna. In 2015, the company restructured in order to become eligible to participate on the German sports betting market, as was made evident in the sports betting comparison. In 2015, a cooperation between the Deutsche Sportwetten GmbH and the Deutsche Telekom allowed for the provider to extend its service into Germany as well. The extensive portfolio of Tipp3, which is a self-proclaimed big player on the sports betting market, is enhanced by various options for playing browser games.
The sports betting test showed that in order to register with the bookmaker, all new customers have to do is enter the website of the bookmaker and click on the “Register Now” button. To be eligible to use the services provided by Tipp3, users must have a permanent residence in Austria or Germany respectively. Furthermore, new users are required to provide a valid copy of either the passport or personal identification card. Also, users must have a personal online banking account. If users who don't reside in Germany or Austria want to open an account at Tipp3, they can do so via Sofort Ident or ID-Pass.
The website of Tipp3 was reviewed as functional and tidy during the sports betting test. Green, orange and white are the primary colors used, which allows for instant identification of the essential sections of the portal. Animations and other gimmicks are kept at a minimum level; so even inexperienced user will be able to use the service intuitively. The usual pision into three columns, which is also applied by many other competitors on the sports betting market, is used on the website of Tipp3 as well. On the left side, users can select a sports category, in the middle column the inpidual betting opportunities are displayed, while on the right side of the screen users can fill out a betting slip. Furthermore, users can also opt for a list view, which allows for a comprehensive review of the respective betting activities of the user.
Currently, the betting portfolio of Tipp3 contains 12 different sports, which is not an extensive supply, but nevertheless covers all relevant and popular categories. Besides the popular categories such as soccer and tennis, customers of Tipp3 can also place bets on futsal, badminton and other categories.
With regards to soccer, the betting supply is extremely extensive. Standard bets at Tipp3 are complemented with live betting opportunities. The different betting options available at Tipp3 include single-, combinational., systemic- and yes/no bets.
The odd level at Tipp3 can be regarded as decent, as an average quota key of 95% for the most important and popular soccer competitions ranges in the midfield of the sports betting comparison. For bets on the German Bundesliga, this quota even gains an additional percentage point, while the quota level for less popular events or leagues might not even get close to the 90% mark respectively.
Unfortunately, the Austrian bookmaker doesn't offer a live betting center for its customers yet. The regularly updated news and scores are the only available option for customers of Tipp3 to follow up with their betting activities in real time, especially since neither a live stream nor a live ticker are currently available. This obviously called for some minor deductions during the sports betting comparison, as other providers clearly have a more extensive and perse live betting section available to its customers. The news tool of Tipp3 provides news about current scores and the number of yellow or red cards issued within a game.
The most recognizable feature of the Austrian bookmaker Tipp3 clearly is the fact that the company takes over the betting tax of 5% for its customers, which has been installed in Germany in 2012. That way, customers of Tipp3 don't have to be afraid of any tax deductions on their potential winnings.
For those customers who don't want to miss out on placing a bet while on the move, Tipp3 offers an app which allows for immediate access to the customer's account from anywhere, as long as an internet connection is available. The design and layout of the app are rather simple, although the two color mode certainly allows for a decent overview and convenient navigation. On the top of the screen, users of the app can find the betting opportunities available, and below these a quick navigation menu is available for selecting between standard bets, live bets and yes/no bets. Online games are not available at Tipp3 yet.
During the sports betting comparison, the customer service of Tipp3 was regarded as very well, as customers from Germany can reach out to the staff through a free telephone hotline. During the week, customer support at Tipp3 is available between 7am and 11pm. On weekends and during holidays the staff can be reached between 8am and 10pm.
The most relevant payment options are available at Tipp3, among them bank transfer, Visa and Master Card, Giropay and Sofortüberweisung. Although the scope is quite limited, especially with regards to what other sports betting providers offer its customers, it is worth mentioning that none of the payment methods available at Tipp3 contain processing or other service fees. Cash out requests can only be processed via bank transfer at Tipp3. Here, the transaction is free as well and usually takes between three to five days until credited to the bank account of the respective customer.
Tipp3 offers the so called Tipp3 bonus. This match bonus is a 100% bonus for up to 103 Euro. To clear the bonus and qualify for a cash out, customers must implement the bonus amount in sports betting four times, whereby a minimum quota of 1,81 must be maintained. The minimum deposit at the Austrian bookmaker is 5 Euro.
During the sports betting test, Tipp3 proved as a secure and reliable provider. Appealing odds can be found especially with popular soccer games. The general quality of the customer service and the performative mobile app left a good impression, while the complete lack of a live betting center as well as the limited payment options were reviewed as minor drawbacks.
